Sarah Kay in watercolour

Another card this week – guess who had a good weekend pain-wise!!  I had a play with the old distress inks and Inktense pencils, love the effect but man it takes some time to colour with watercolours vs markers.

The inspiration for this card came from the delectable Papermaina Lincoln Linen paper pack that I picked up a few weeks back.  Love kraft and white together.

A closer look and the sweet Sarah Kay image (I wish Stampavie were still doing them – my all time very favourite stamp).

The scalloped layer was done using a Marianne Designs die set.  Love the effect.

I remembered to dig out a charm to use, I have a gazillion of these babies and keep on forgetting to use them.

I can’t remember who the sentiment is by, but I stamped and embossed using white EP, so soft and pretty.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I used a Cottage Rose, Open Roses in 25mm, 20mm 15mm and 10mm sizes and I also used ofn of the new miniature gardenia flowers.  The white leaves are cut from a Cheery Lynn die.

And …. I might even get a few more cards done over the weekend, woo get me lol.  I managed to sort out a year’s worth of stamps that I had been stock piling in a box on my desk, now I just need to get round to using them haha.

Fairy on a tree

It’s WOC challenge time again, so I dug out one of the new Whimsy Stamps – this one is Fairy on a Tree.

I used the fab Seed Packet Die (also from Whimsy) and it fitted the tag in the paper pack perfectly.  I cut out flowers from one of the sheets of paper to decorate the front of the packet.  The other Whimsy die used is the delish Lace Doily Border Die

I’ve used the delish Purple Cottage Charms papers also from Whimsy, so pretty!  Even the tag and butterflies are from the pack.

I have used the following flowers, all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  First up is that gorgeous Bead Flower – very yummy! I also used the new miniature gardenia flowers, the colours in this pack are sublime!  I added to the mix sweetheart blossoms, open roses (10mm), Wild Rose (25mm)

A closer look at the bead flower (love it!)

I’ll be back in a few days with another card.  Woo!  Get me! I actually managed to get a couple made on the weekend.

Oh man I am so very late with my post today, this weekend was NOT good.  Enough moaning, here’s my card for this week’s Wild Orchid Challenge, the theme is Bling it up (plenty of that going on here ha!)

bev-rochester-sarah-kay-girl-with-dog

I have used the most delicious papers from MicheleR Design – oh man they are simply sublime!  I will post up the link as soon as her Etsy Shop is up and running sometime this week, there are some gorgeous digi kits in there YUM!  So watch this space!  The kit I have used is Basic Vintage, even the little envelope and gorge sentiment is part of the kit

I fancied doing some water colouring, so broke out my new(ish) set of Derwent Inktense pencils that my hubby bought me for my birthday last month.  They are a dream to use, really love them.  If you have been dithering about buying them – get them off Ebay, they are CONSIDERABLY cheaper than online shops, he saved around £50 for the 72 set!!!

And a close up of the bling, not including the lashings of Stickles

Flowers, lace and seam binding are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Flowers used are Cottage Rose, Cosmos Daisies, Open Roses in 20mm 15mm and 10mm sizes.

And check out the fabulous sentiment I have used from the Mini Chalkboards sentiment set designed by our Simonne!  Now I know I didn’t use the chalkboard colour but I think it looks just as good stamped and embossed on patterned paper.  LOVE this set, it is going to get so much use.
