It’s Wild Orchid Challenge day today, the challenge this time is Blue, Birds and Buttons so a real challenge for me. Not a fan of blue and don’t have much in the way of birds. Still I managed the challenge.
I decided on a shaped card for a change.
Once again I coloured with markers only, not a pencil in sight.
Hair E53, 51, 50
Skin E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Apron, boots W5, 3, 1, 0, 00
Dress BG75, 72, 70
And here’s the bird, hiding behind the embossed bird cage and I even managed to squeeze on the button after forgetting all about it lol.
The papers are Maja from quite a while back. The lace and charm is from my stash
Should be back during the week with another card.

How gorgeous are these digi papers from MicheleR Design? This kit is called Rose Cottage Charms and is totally exquisite! I decided to make a Criss-Cross card, I’ve not done one for ages. I teamed the papers with Whimsy Stamps Rowan Fairy and decided to colour her up with copic markers only, no pencils at all. Aren’t I brave lol
I printed off one of the little tickets and stamped a sentiment onto it, I also resized and printed out one of the round sentiments that is part of the kit. That’s what I really love about digi kits, you have the option to resize most stuff to suit your project.
I wish I had taken a note of the colours I used, but by the time I had finished the card the pain was so bad I just bunged all the markers back in their cubbies. I think I used the following combinations:
Hair: E55, 43, 53, 50
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Clothes: V12, 01, 00, 0000; BV02, 01, 0000
Berries: BV08, 04, 02, 0000
Leaves and wings: YG93, 91, W00; V000, 0000
Hopefully I have set the formatting up right that clicking on the picture will enlarge it for a closer look
And the last picture with the insert fitted in place. Love the colours on this card, so fresh and pretty.

A closer look at her, LOVE her hair. I used copic markers and a touch of pencils (but mainly just the markers for a change)
Hair: E55, 53, 51, 50 & Sandor Brown Pencil
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20 & French Grey 20% Pencil
Pink: R81, RV000, 0000 & French Grey 20% Pencil
Green: BG93, 90 % Chrome Oxide Green Pencil
I slathered her wings with TH Distress Glitter
And of course the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (where else lol). I used a Cottage Rose, Lilies, fabric daisy and open roses in 20mm, 15mm and 10mm. I also went a bit crazy with the pearls, love the effect of clustering them here and there. The swirly leaves are cut from a Marianne Design die.
With a bit of luck I will get another card made today, whatever your plans enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend.

Another card this week – guess who had a good weekend pain-wise!! I had a play with the old distress inks and Inktense pencils, love the effect but man it takes some time to colour with watercolours vs markers.
The inspiration for this card came from the delectable Papermaina Lincoln Linen paper pack that I picked up a few weeks back. Love kraft and white together.
A closer look and the sweet Sarah Kay image (I wish Stampavie were still doing them – my all time very favourite stamp).
The scalloped layer was done using a Marianne Designs die set. Love the effect.
I remembered to dig out a charm to use, I have a gazillion of these babies and keep on forgetting to use them.
I can’t remember who the sentiment is by, but I stamped and embossed using white EP, so soft and pretty.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used a Cottage Rose, Open Roses in 25mm, 20mm 15mm and 10mm sizes and I also used ofn of the new miniature gardenia flowers. The white leaves are cut from a Cheery Lynn die.
And …. I might even get a few more cards done over the weekend, woo get me lol. I managed to sort out a year’s worth of stamps that I had been stock piling in a box on my desk, now I just need to get round to using them haha.

I used the fab Seed Packet Die (also from Whimsy) and it fitted the tag in the paper pack perfectly. I cut out flowers from one of the sheets of paper to decorate the front of the packet. The other Whimsy die used is the delish Lace Doily Border Die
I’ve used the delish Purple Cottage Charms papers also from Whimsy, so pretty! Even the tag and butterflies are from the pack.
I have used the following flowers, all from Wild Orchid Crafts. First up is that gorgeous Bead Flower – very yummy! I also used the new miniature gardenia flowers, the colours in this pack are sublime! I added to the mix sweetheart blossoms, open roses (10mm), Wild Rose (25mm)
A closer look at the bead flower (love it!)
I’ll be back in a few days with another card. Woo! Get me! I actually managed to get a couple made on the weekend.
