Special Wishes

Back to my flowery, shabby cards with this one today.  I’m really loving this style at the moment.

I got this Rose Avenue paper pack a few weeks back, I’m in total love!  The little tag is from the pack, I used two seperate words from the Whimsy Stamps Painted Sayings stamp set to make up the sentiment I wanted to fit on the tag.  Annnnd … see that gorgeous white flourish behind the leaves – well, that’s the fabulous Cherry Blossom Panel die!!  Yep, I just cut off the border and voila, another way to use that die.

I made the clock using a silicone mould and a hot glue gun, once it was set I gave it a couple coats of white paint then dirtied it up with some Pumice Stone Distress Inkbev-rochester-whimsy-painted-sayings-peach1

Love that panel die converted into a flourish!

The leaf die is one I picked up on Ebay.

Pretty Big Flowers

A somewhat different card today, also featuring the new Whimsy Stamps release.  I’ve used two clear stamp sets – Pretty Big Flowers and Vintage Birthday Frames.  I also used the fab-u-las In Stitches stamp set to stamp some stitching using Pumice Stone Distress Ink around the edges of the paper, way quicker than stitching for real!

bev-rochester-whimsy-pretty-flowers-vintage-birthday-frames

I stamped and heat embossed the flowers using gold embossing powder several times, then watercoloured using Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany and Bundled Sage Distress Inks.  I forgot just how much I love colouring flower stamps, and using watercolour mediums makes them a doddle to colour.

bev-rochester-whimsy-pretty-flowers-vintage-birthday-frames1

I also heat embossed the sentiment after stamping on to a die cut oval.

bev-rochester-whimsy-pretty-flowers-vintage-birthday-frames2

A bit of lace and a few swirly die cuts and job done.  A really quick and simple card to make Smile

Have a great Easter weekend!

Cherry Blossom Panel

I’m back with my second card featuring gorgeous goodies from the April Whimsy Stamps release.  I don’t recall making a sympathy card before, so this is a first for me and the new Cherry Blossom panel die was perfect for what I had in mind.   I teamed this up with one of the new Sympathy Heartfelt & Condolences word dies and the new Deepest Sympathy stamp set.

bev-rochester-whimsy-sympathy-lace-panel-dies

I adhered the lace panels on to a sheet of paper from The Promise pad.  I wanted a patterned design but not one that would fight with the lace and I think that most of the papers from this pad would’ve worked perfect for what I had in mind.  I adhered the sympathy die cut onto a banner from the Card Builder Many Thanks die set and stamped on the sentiment (thank goodness for the Misti, thats all I’m saying!)

bev-rochester-whimsy-sympathy-lace-panel-dies2

The bird is one I made using a silicone mould and hot glue which, once set, I coated a couple of times with white acrylic paint.

bev-rochester-whimsy-sympathy-lace-panel-dies1

For a girl who steers away from sympathy cards, I’m really pleased at how this one turned out.  I think this panel is going to be so very useful for so many styles and types of cards – thanks for listening to my plea Denise Winking smile

Back tomorrow with another card.

Penguin’s Birthday

The Whimsy Stamps April 2017 release party has started over on the Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group. Pop across to join in with games, fun, and a chance to win Whimsy prizes too.

We are releasing new red rubber images, clear stamp sets and dies.  Everything is available here, so do pop across to see all of the new stamping goodness.  I’ve popped a video link to the March release showcase at the end of the post, it’s just a couple of minutes long and worth a peek to see all the fab new goodies.

I can’t help it, I’m totally and utterly in love with these little cuties, so hot on the heels of my last penguin card … I’ve another one for you #sorrynotsorry

This is Penguin Birthday, which I’ve teamed up with the two new word sets of dies that were released today - Birthday Wishes and Magical and also Smiles Happy and Celebrate.  I’ve also added in the cutest little cupcake from the Shaker Builder Sweetest Birthday die set.

bev-rochester-whimsy-penguin-birthday

Coloured with copic markers, I used:

Penguin: C9, 7, 5, 3 – BV20, C1, 0, 00 – R20, 00 – YR27, 24, 31, 30
Orange: YR02, 02, 00, 000
Teal: BG57, 32, 11, 10

The papers are My Minds Eye – Tangerine.  Love that although they are bright colours, they are still subdued and don’t overwhelm the stamped image.

Back tomorrow with another new reveal Smile

Penguin Hugs

I’m officially in love … with these sweetest little penguins by Crissy Armstrong.  What an absolute pleasure they are to colour!  Today’s card features Penguin Hugs from Whimsy Stamps.   Now seriously, how can you not be gaga over these little cuties?!

I was having a mooch through my sentiment stamp sets and thought the “from my heart to yours” from the Handmade from me stamp set worked perfectly with this image.  The sentiment set just so happens to be on sale right now too – bonus.   I used the Whimsy Stamps Shaker Builder Sweetest Birthday die for the dotty layer.

bev-rochester-whimsy-penguin-hugs4

Not many copic colours used to colour this one up:

Penguins: C9, 7, 5, 3 – BV20, C1, 0, 00 – R20, 00 – YR27, 24, 31, 30
Grass: G20, YG63, 61, 67
Flowers: R85, 81
Butterflies: BG57, 10

bev-rochester-whimsy-penguin-hugs3

The paper is First Edition Bella Rose.  I really need to make a concerted effort to start using what I have rather than buying the new stuff and then stock-piling.  It’s ridiculous the stuff I have in this craft room, I’m ashamed!

bev-rochester-whimsy-penguin-hugs

I’ve another penguin card next week (one of three cards for the April Whimsy Stamps release).

bev-rochester-whimsy-penguin-hugs1

And for those lucky enough to get to Ally Pally this weekend, Tracy from Noor Design is there with all her delectable goodies including Foamiran and a huge range of stamens.  She’ll be in the arena today and tomorrow demonstrating flower making using Foamiran.

Floral Birthday Wishes

I’m back to my flowery and shabby cards today, and used Whimsy StampsButterflies Stencil, Doodled Doily Die and Lovely Lavender Stamp Set

bev-rochester-whimsy-floral-muse

Yup, the organza ribbon (which is a pale green believe it or not … darn camera!) got the heat treatment again.  LOVE this effect so hard.

bev-rochester-whimsy-floral-muse3

Lots of dimension with the stencil effect and raised layers.

bev-rochester-whimsy-floral-muse2

Love these soft and pretty Floral Muse papers, they are perfect for the shabby look.

Have a great weekend

Penguin loves Bunny

I’m in love!  Totally and utterly!  Have you seen the penguins that Crissy has done for Whimsy Stamps??  Throw in a bunny or two and my heart’s a puddle ♥

This is Penguin Loves Bunny, too stinkin’ cute! When I went to add the link I saw it’s sold out, and I’m not in the least bit surprised, hopefully it’ll be back in stock soon.

I coloured the stamp with copic markers.
Penguin:  C9, 7, 5, 3; C1, 0 , 00; YR27, 24, 31, 30; R20, 000
Bunny: BV20, E53, 51, 50; R20, 000

The paper is from an old Dovecraft pad that I found in a pile of must have paper pads that have never seen the light of day!

The sentiment is die cut from the Brush Script Upper Case Alphabet dies, the Brush Script Lower Case Alphabet dies which I popped on to a heart from the Sketched Elephants Dies set.

The flowers are from I Am Roses – I LOVE the coral flowers, the colour and shape is so pretty.

Some foamiran flowers

I had a lovely play with foamiran and moulds on Saturday morning, and this is the result.

bev-rochester-foamiran-flowers-eiffel-tower

I used a Find It! Holly Jolly die set for the card base and layer.  I thought the oval die that I picked up from Ebay would be the perfect base for the Eiffel Tower embellishment.

bev-rochester-foamiran-flowers-eiffel-tower4

I made all the flowers from foamiran, I love how those sweet little tulips turned out.  The dies are all Rosy Dot from Noor Design.  They also have the new flower dies that are perfect for foamiran, so pop across for a peek.

I had such fun making this card!

Magical Day

Here’s my third card for the Whimsy release, and it’s the one I had the most fun making.  I love taking dies and adapting them, like I did with the doily by transforming it into a tag to pop behind the top layer.
I’ve used the Doodled Doily Die, along with the Shine Bright sentiment stamp set and the Wish upon a Star stamp set.  Love how these two stamp sets work together.
bev-rochester-shine-bright_wish-upon-a-star
I wanted a tag large enough to take the fab-u-lasss sentiment, and the doily fitted the top of the tag like it was made for it Smile
bev-rochester-shine-bright_wish-upon-a-star6
I’m afraid the heat distressed organza ribbon is in use again, I just LOVE the effect.
bev-rochester-shine-bright_wish-upon-a-star4
I used 13@arts glitter paint on the flowers and frame to add a bit of sparkle, and also popped some Prills into the frame and around the flowers for a bit added texture.  I glued the heart shaped frame onto a tag that came with the Alice’s Dreams papers, it has the sweetest sentiment printed on it which I totally obliterated with the Prills lol.
bev-rochester-shine-bright_wish-upon-a-star2
The tag tucks in neatly although it does look rather top heavy in this shot!
bev-rochester-shine-bright_wish-upon-a-star3
This card is just so me, pretty and pink lol.

Mother’s Day

I’m back with my second card for March’s Whimsy Stamps release.  Today’s card features the clear Mother Love sentiment stamp set, and it’s another fab set for sure!

bev-rochester-whimsy-stamps-mother-love

I love that it has longer sentiments which are perfect for inside the card.

bev-rochester-whimsy-stamps-mother-love2

I cut out a bird from the reverse side of the designer paper and popped it behind the resin frame.

bev-rochester-whimsy-stamps-mother-love4

Ugh, I struggled with the lighting for this card, all photos were taken one after the other yet each one’s colour and light is totally different.  I really can’t wait for sunny days!!

Back tomorrow with another (pink!!) card for the new release Winking smile

Wee Freesia

The Whimsy Stamps March 2017 release party has started over on the Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group. Pop across to join in with games, fun, and a chance to win Whimsy prizes too.

We are releasing new red rubber images, clear stamp sets and dies.  Everything is available here, so do pop across to see all of the new stamping goodness.  I’ve popped a video link to the March release showcase at the end of the post, it’s just a couple of minutes long and worth a peek to see all the fab new goodies.

bev-rochester-whimsy-freesia-a

I’m using Freesia on my card today along with the sweetest sentiment from the Clearly Shine Bright sentiment stamp set.

bev-rochester-whimsy-freesia2

I used a slightly wider organza ribbon to crinkle on this card, I think I prefer the pop this wider ribbon gives.

bev-rochester-whimsy-freesia1

I used Alice’s Dreams paper pad from Scrap and Craft – I think thisis my all time favourite paper pad, it’s simply delicious!

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card featuring stamps from the new release.
