New Lily Die Set - Whimsy Stamps August Release

It's release time at Whimsy Stamps and the new August dies, rubber and clear goodies are out.  You can see the entire release here.

I'm featuring the new Lily Flower Die Set on both cards and have used them two ways, one as a traditional lily flower and the other I've created a poinsettia using the same die set.

First up the lily card - I made the flower using white silk foamiran for the flower and olive green foamiran for the leaves.   I also used the smallest die from my Peony Flower Die Set to make the little white cherry blossoms. I used one of my Vintage Sentiments, the font worked so well for the look I was aiming for with this one.

Just a heads up for the UK girls, Noor Design has the new release in stock here

A closer look at the flowers which I coloured with oil pastels and then used a copic marker to create the dots on the petals.

The paper is The Promise pad by First Edition.

Next up is a Christmas card, again using the lily dies

I love that the die set can be used for more than it was intended for, I do like to get my money's worth lol.

I used white foamiran again and used all three layers (each cut twice) to make up the large poinsettia  and the smaller two layers for the small poinsettia.  I also used the peony flower set to make the gold blossoms.  The leaves I did by painting a sheet of white card with gold paint then die cut using the fab-u-lassss Holly Vine Die.  I love how that turned out!  The sentiment is the Christmas Large Word Die

I finished up the arrangement with some white berries and some wee cones that I painted gold.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card featuring the lily die set and also the gorgeous new rose petal die set

I've linked to the products in the post but to make it easier to find them here they are again

Foamiran Poinsettia Christmas

Another Christmas card, and this time I’ve made a Foamiran poinsettia using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  It was really easy to make so if you want a quick video of how I did it leave a comment and I’ll get one done if there’s enough interest.

I used the gorgeous Lemoncraft Christmas Carols paper pad again, I LOVE this pad.  I used 0.6mm white Foamiran and heated each petal then pressed on to a Mould 104.  It sounds faffy but it was really quick to do.  Once I’d embossed them all I twised the ends and shaped the petals slightly.  I adhered 2 of each layer together then popped a berry sprig in the centre together with a gold metal finding which I’ve had in my stash for years.  I used some white flowers made using the Craft Passion Flowers set –06 and Craft Passion Flowers Set 03 dies.

I finished off the spray with some TH die cut leaves, gold berries, Scrapiniec Holly Branches laser cut chipboard, Wycinanka - Lacy Christmas - Stars - set of 3 (both painted with gold paint) and some gold twine.

I love how the poinsettia turned out.  I added white glitter from The Range to give an icy look and added some mini polystyrene balls (also from The Range)

Those little white flowers fitted the bill perfectly Smile

I love making Christmas cards, even though I’m not a fan of Christmas – it’s gotten way too commercial for me.

Wee Baby Giraffe

I haven’t coloured in a Wee image for a while, and fell in love with this new one from Whimsy StampsBaby Giraffe.  How stinkin cute!  I teamed it with a sentiment from the Polka Dot Fun stamp set.

I made the flowers using my Peony Flower Die Set and 0.6mm white Foamiran.  I made some little yellow blossoms usiing the peony die (smallest die) and also Craft Passion Flowers Set 03 and Craft Passion Flowers set –06 dies as well as some rust blossoms using a Rosy Dot set.  I made a card similar to this a couple of weeks ago (in fact I made them both together because I loved the paper and lace so much!)  The paper is UKH Gallery Mademoiselle paper pad, the lace is 100mm natural lace which I cut in half.

I need to dig out some more Wee stamps I think.

My first Christmas card for 2017 is done, this year is whizzing by far too quickly.  Eek, eek, eekity eek!

I went the traditional route for my first card, and used delicious Lemoncraft Christmas Carols paper pad, added a gorgeous Wycinanka - Christmas Doodles - Baubles with Snowflake 02 and some Scrapiniec Holly Branches laser cut chipboard which I popped in amongst the flowers.  I added

I used mulberry flowers for a change.  I chopped up a glittery berry spray to use in amongst the flowers and finished off with a die cut sentiment

One down, eleventy ‘leven to go!

Penguin’s Rainy Day

I’m still penguin crazy, so here’s another cutie from me today.  This is Penguin’s Rainy Day, a digi stamp from Whimsy Stamps.   I’ve used one of the sentiments from the Polka Dot Fun clear stamp set and some It’s a party enamel dots and sequins for embellishment along with the flowers.

Copic markers used to colour this up are:
Penguin: C9, 7, 5; C1, 0, 00; R20, R00; YR27, 24, 31, 30
Brolly: N3, BG57, 45, 53, B000
Boots/Hat: N3, R24, 14, 22, 20
Ducky: YR31, Y35, YR30; YR27, 24, 31, 30

The papers are My Minds Eye – these fun colours are so perfect for these stamps!

Dies used are a mix of Sizzix, Magnolia, Memory Box or MFT for the clouds (can’t remember!) and Spellbinders.

Back on the weekend with a (ssshhhhhhh!!!) Christmas card - eeek!

You make me happy

I was in my happy place last week – shabby, pink and pretty.  Oh yeah!

I used a whole bunch of goodies from Love to Craft and Create on this card :-

The dies used are Peony Flower Die Set, Memory Box, Crafters Companion, Prima, Rosy Owl and eBay.  The butterfly washi tape is also an eBay find as are the heart glass bottles.  The oval frame is from The Range and the sentiment is a SU rub-on.

I love these little glass bottles so hard. ♥

The butterfly comes as two separate die sets …. the solid and the frames.  I cut the solid from parchment paper and then adhered the frames to the front.

Have a great week x

Have a Sunshiney Day

It looks like the only summer days the UK is going to get ……. again ……. is those we create ourselves, so here’s a bright and summery card.  With this ridiculously wretched weather I need all the bright I can get my hands on.

I went digi today and decided to colour up Penguin Swings – now seriously, can you get any cuter than this?!?  I used the Sunshiney Day sentiment from my Vintage Sentiments stamp set, it was perfect for the sweet image.  I finished off the card with some foamiran flowers.  The large pink and blue flowers are made from my Peony Flower Die Set that I believe will be in stock again both here in the UK at Noor Design and Dies to Die For as well as Whimsy Stamps themselves by the end of the week.  You lot wiped them out lol.

And speaking of restocks, I have another die coming out in the next month or so, and like the peony, will be adaptable to be able to make more than one type of flower.  I love me some value for money!

I coloured this cutie with copic markers:
Penguin: C9,7,5; C1,0,00; R20, 30; YR27, 24, 31 30
Pink: R85, 83, 81, RV02
Aqua: BG57, 45, 53, B000
Green: YG67, 63, 61
Swing: E25, 23, 21

A close up of the flowers.

The paper is First Edition Pretty Posy pad.  The doily die is by Crafters Companion and the tag die is from eBay

I finished off the flowers with some crinkled organza ribbon.  The sparkly centres of the blue flowers are another eBay purchase.  I swear I spend more time on eBay and my Kindle than I do in my craft room!

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Kornelia–Mum to be

I don’t think I’ve made a mum to be card before, so changed that by colouring up this sweet stamp Kornelia – Mum to be.  I went with peach colours to keep it gender neutral and of course had to use the sublime UKH Gallery Mademoiselle paper pad together with some pretty 100mm natural lace, all from Love to Craft and Create, along with the pre-requisite foamiran flowers!  The flowers are die cut from the Craft Passion Flowers set – 03 and Craft Passion Flowers set –06 dies.  The flowers are made using 0.6mm white Foamiran

Here’s a closer look at the flowers

I coloured the stamp with copic markers:
Hair – E57, 53, 50
Skin – E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Dress – R43, 21, 20, 000

The dies are a mix of Magnolia and eBay

Best Wishes

Here’s my last July showcase card for the Whimsy Stamps release.  You can find all the new products here

I’ve used two clear sets on my card – the fabulous FA Doodles which I used to stamp the black hand drawn lines around the border of the card as well as the sentiment which is from the Simple Sentiments set.

I used a little glass bottle that I filled with rhinestones for the centre of the resin frame.

And of course there’s oodles of Foamiran flowers – the turquoise and buttery yellow flowers are made from the Peony Flower Die Set.  I was so thrilled with how the roses turned out, given that the set wasn’t designed with roses in mind.  I love that I can get more than one type of flower from the die set, I do like value for money lol.

I finished the card off with some polystyrene balls and rhinestone flatbacks along with some waxed cord and distressed organza ribbon.

I do love this colour combo – and not a hint of pink either!

Summer Blooms

I’m back with my second card for the new Whimsy Stamps release, this one features the clear Summer Blooms stamp and also the Simple Sentiments stamp sets.  You can find all the new products here

I used one of the elements from the stamp set as my focal point as it fitted on the tag beautifully and it was so easy to colour too.

I finished the card off with some mulberry flowers and a sentiment

Back tomorrow with my last July showcase card
